In his final letter as CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos left us with a truth that has stayed with me: “Create more than you consume.”
Survival itself requires effort. Just as living organisms fight against nature’s pull toward equilibrium, we must fight against the world’s pull to become “typical.” Growth demands that we keep evolving, keep building, keep creating.
You grow or you die.
Amazon’s rise from a handful of employees to more than a million proves what happens when you commit to this principle. But what struck me most was Bezos’s reminder that the world will always try to make you ordinary. Greatness lies in protecting your uniqueness.
Atlanta embodies that same spirit. Our skyline climbs higher each year, our neighborhoods pulse with culture and diversity, our entrepreneurs push us onto the global stage. This city thrives because its people create more than they consume.
In real estate, I carry that forward, not just closing transactions, but creating community, opportunity, and experiences that elevate lives. That is legacy.
So I leave you with the same question I ask myself:
Are you creating more than you consume?
